Geometry and Madder

This free-flowing pattern of geometry is printed on thick hand-woven cotton rug in earthy color palette of reddish-brown and tan tones with black accents.

Flat surface Ajrakh designs go well with rugs. And rugs are fully displayed in homes revealing the story of pattern and color.  This gives me a larger canvas to manipulate the surface of the fabric.

This rug is natural dyed in madder root for reddish brown tones. The tan shade is achieved with resist print. And black print with fermented iron paste.
